ENI Starts Up Gas Production from Algerian Field

change text size

Italy's ENI announced Monday that it started gas production from its Menzel Ledjmet East field, onshore Algeria, at the end of January.

ENI expects the field, located around 620 miles from Algiers in Block 405b, to help it achieve a daily production from Algeria of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in 2013. In 2012 the company's Algerian operations managed an average of 80,000 boe.

A plant located in the Menzel Ledjmet East field allows for the treatment of hydrocarbons for the daily sale of 97 million cubic feet of gas, 15,000 barrels of oil/condensate and 12,000 barrels of LPG.
