Petronas Inks 2013/2015 Collective Agreement with Staff Union

Petronas and its in-house staff union, Kesatuan Kakitangan Petroliam Nasional (KAPENAS), inked a collective agreement for the period 2013/2015.

In a statement on Saturday, the national oil company said that the agreement improves and revises the employment terms and conditions to provide better benefits for non-executive staff.

"The agreement extends to non-executive staff such as technicians and clerks," a spokesperson representing Petronas told Rigzone Monday.

Industrial Relations Malaysia’s Director-General, Fong Khei Por, remarked in a statement that the inked agreement is a symbol of respect, transparency, trust and compromise.

"It is important for the private sector to maintain industrial harmony within the workplace to ensure a productive workforce, which is one of the key factors to attracting foreign investors," Fong said.
