MMA Takes Delivery of the Mermaid Inscription
Mermaid Marine Australia (MMA) announced Friday that it has taken delivery of the Mermaid Inscription, a 285 foot (87 meter) dynamic positioning platform supply vessel (PSV) from one of Nam Cheong's subcontracted yards in China.
The Mermaid Inscription is a diesel electric vessel, fitted with the capability of dynamic positioning and fire-fighting capabilities.
The vessel is configured with 10,673 square feet (1,000 square meters) of open deck cargo capacity and under deck bulk storage to meet the latest requirements of offshore oil and gas offshore drilling and construction industries.
It is expected that the Mermaid Inscription will start operations on the North West Shelf of Australia around March 2013.
