Esso Norge Gets Approval to Use Deepsea Delta

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Esso Norge AS its consent to use the Odfjell's semisub, Deepsea Delta for exploration drilling of well 16/1-7 offshore Norway. The well is located approximately 220 kilometers west of Stavanger. The well is expected to take 40 - 75 days and planned start-up is May 2004.

The Deepsea Delta received the PSA's Acknowledgement of Compliance in February 2004.

Well 16/1-7 is located in production license 001B. Esso and Statoil are partners in the license.
