PanCandian Rolls out the Red Carpet for the Eirik Raude

PanCanadian Petroleum Limited, Ocean Rig ASA and the Halifax Shipyard will host a celebration in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday, July 26 at 11 a.m. Halifax time to welcome the Eirik Raude deep water semisubmersible to the harbor. This event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, however, high winds and reduced visibility offshore have prevented the rig from entering the harbor today.

The event will now take place on Thursday at the Sackville Landing Wharf, which is located on the Halifax waterfront at the bottom of Sackville Street. Speakers include Gerry Protti, PanCanadian Senior Vice President New Ventures, Christian Huseby, Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Rig, and Jim Irving, President of J.D. Irving Limited who will speak on behalf of the Halifax Shipyard. Nova Scotia government representatives will also be in attendance. PanCanadian and Ocean Rig have formed a partnership to use the Eirik Raude in future drilling offshore Nova Scotia. The rig will be completed at the Halifax Shipyard.
