TNK-BP Deploys New HSE Monitoring System across Business

change text size

BP's Russian joint venture TNK-BP announced Friday that it is deploying a "unique" system to monitor health and safety data at all of its subsidiaries.

The system, developed with software firm EMEX, is designed to improve safety levels in the company and ensure the most effective management decisions about health, safety and the environment (HSE) are taken. It will have a common database that covers all of TNK-BP's subsidiaries and will enable real-time tracking of incidents and detailed statistical analysis of a wide range of parameters to identify trends and effectively prevent HSE incidents.

The process of integrating all of TNK-BP's subsidiaries into the project – at a total cost of $1.5 million – is scheduled for completion during 2013.

"Ensuring maximum protection of people and the environment in all regions of company operations is currently a key priority. The unified monitoring system will enable us to consistently analyse, predict, prevent and react promptly to possible HSE incidents," said Elena Kompasenko, TNK-BP vice president for HSE.
