Polish Government Will Approve Hydrocarbon Tax Bill Next Week

WARSAW – Poland's government is scheduled to approve a draft bill on the taxation of hydrocarbon production next week, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Tuesday.

Uncertainty on the level of taxation of oil and gas production has prompted some foreign companies with licenses to explore for shale gas in the central European country to slow down their schedule of drilling test wells.

Mr. Tusk added the assumptions of the proposed legislation have been decided.
