TNK-BP Mulling Colombia, Brazil Hydrocarbon Tenders

change text size

MOSCOW - Anglo-Russian oil company TNK-BP is interested in hydrocarbon tenders in Colombia and Brazil as it looks to expand its presence in South America, TNK-BP Senior Vice President for Exploration Chris Einchcomb told journalists Thursday.

TNK-BP, which is already exploring in Brazil, has registered to take part in tenders in Colombia and is also looking at taking part in a licensing round in Brazil next year, Mr. Einchcomb said. He also noted that TNK-BP wants to expand its presence in Vietnam.

TNK-BP, Russia's No. 3 oil producer, is co-owned by BP PLC and a group of billionaires in a consortium known as AAR. BP is in talks with AAR and Russian state-controlled oil giant OAO Rosneft on selling out of TNK-BP.
