change text size

Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) said Thursday that its marine unit has won shipbuilding and repair contracts worth $144 million (SGD 179 million).

The contracts include an agreement – valued at around $89 million (SDG 111 million) – to build two additional offshore support vessels (OSV) for Hornbeck Offshore Services as well as a series of repair and upgrading projects.

The vessels for Hornbeck Offshore Services will be built in the company's US shipyard, VT Halter Marine, and they are scheduled to be delivered in 4Q 2014 and 1Q 2015.

The company spokesperson was unreachable for comments.

On Nov. 18, 2011, VT Halter Marine disclosed that it won a contract from Hornbeck Offshore Services to construct eight OSVs worth $353 million (SGD 441 million), with options for up to 24 additional identical vessels. The first vessel will be delivered in October 2013, while the last vessel will be delivered by September 2014.
