The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reported Monday that the Artemis Atlantic seismic research vessel has completed the acquisition of data acquisition in the northernmost part of the Nordland IV and V areas.
The seismic acquisition mission for Nordland IV and V began on July 10 and is scheduled to last one month. The mission was commissioned by the Norwegian Parliament, who tasked the NPD with mapping the subsurface to gain knowledge of possible petroleum deposits in the area.
The acquisition activity is split into four areas, with the objective being to complete one area at a time so as to impede the fishing industry as little as possible.
