Infocast will hold its inaugural Shale Boom Workforce Summit at the Hilton Houston Post Oak in Houston, TX from June 7-8, 2012. The summit corresponds as companies ramp up their shale production with skilled workers are in critical need.
The ramped up pace of drilling and lack of infrastructure in some regions (especially in Texas, North Dakota and the Marcellus/Utica regions) has meant a mad scramble for qualified oilfield personnel. Further complicating the situation is the fact that there is a lack of a "pipeline" to replace skilled professionals nearing retirement, as well as a general depletion of workers with the specialized skill sets oil and gas companies need. It’s clear that both the ability to conduct long-term planning and to obtain short-term relief is urgently needed on this front.
For the Shale Boom Workforce Summit, Infocast has assembled a wide array of industry experts to give hands-on, practical advice for resolving these challenges. E&Ps, oilfield service companies, recruiters, housing and economic development agencies and transportation companies will share their experiences and strategies for dealing with the workforce dilemma. The event will be kicked off with a keynote presentation by Paul Caplan, President of Rigzone, and is sponsored by Target Logistics and Williston Economic Development.
The Summit will provide up-to-the-minute information needed to make critical workforce decisions necessary to maximize profitability while keeping costs down. Gain valuable information on conducting long-term planning, plus immediate strategies and solutions to ensure targets are not missed due to a lack of qualified personnel ready and able to do the required jobs.
