Further emphasizing its dedication to innovative polymer engineering for the offshore oil & gas sector, Trelleborg will present seven technical lectures on industry-related subjects at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas, from April 30 to May 3.
Taking center stage at the company’s booth (No. 5217) throughout the show, Trelleborg representatives will discuss up-to-the-minute topics, including results of a comprehensive market report dedicated solely to the offshore oil & gas industry, which was commissioned exclusively by the global manufacturer.
Doug Marti, Market Development Manager-Americas, Trelleborg Offshore, will use the findings of the survey to reveal the key trends and issues setting the agenda in 2012 and look deeper into key topics of innovation, safety and whole-life costs. In addition, a complete report of the results will be available at the booth for visitors to take away, along with white papers on the other subjects presented.
Bill Allan, Oil & Gas Segment Manager, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Europe, will discuss the implications of the NORSOK M-710 standard on sealing within offshore oil & gas applications. He will give results of independent material tests covering aging requirements and rapid gas decompression that mean a full range of solutions can be matched to operating conditions to provide the optimum cost-efficient, fully compliant sealing option.
Vincent Lagarrigue, Marketing and Project Manager, Trelleborg Industrial Hose, will address the challenges of securing extended life for hoses in offshore oil & gas facilities. He will present a polymer bonded hose option that, in most deep water applications, renders obsolete the use of rigid steel pipelines or flexible unbounded long-length systems with considerable whole-life cost savings.
Eric Bucci, Oil & Gas Segment Manager, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Americas, will explore the use of nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) in the offshore oil & gas industry. He will explain how this leading-edge methodology can provide sealing configurations that offer improved functionality, longer life, reduced maintenance, minimized downtime and lower overall costs.
Grethe Hartviksen, Innovation & Technology Manager, Trelleborg Offshore, will focus on the importance of thermal insulation in ever more challenging subsea applications, where environments are increasingly demanding and whole-life reliability is required. She will present a solution qualified for use down to 9,840 feet that maintains insulation capacity without the need for maintenance or replacement.
Jan-Hugo Nilssen, OPE Sales Manager, Trelleborg Offshore, recognizes that safety continues to be a key priority for offshore oil & gas operators. Through real life examples he will highlight innovative critical firewater and utility piping installations that offer corrosion-free, certified and flexible alternatives to prevent issues associated with traditionally used systems.
Stephen Woolway, Business Development Manager, Trelleborg Marine Systems, will outline the issues involved in ensuring maximum safety when mooring FPSO, FLNG and FSRU vessels in oil & gas environments. He will look at the latest integrated solutions for tandem mooring, ship-to-ship mooring and spread mooring that have in practice solved berthing challenges.
All are welcome to attend the presentations at the Trelleborg booth but places are limited. For further information on the presentation schedule and to preregister, email OTC2012@Trelleborg.com.
