Aurelian Receives Extension for Poland License
Aurelian announced that it has been granted an extension to Block 208 license by the Ministry of Environment in Poland.
- Block 208, on the Poznan East license, has been extended by three years to February 12, 2015, in line with Block 207.
- The Geological Work Program for the period is for 93 miles (150 kilometers) of 2-D seismic.
- Block 208 is adjacent to Block 207 which holds the Siekierki gas field and the recent Krzesinki-1 gas discovery.
- The Block is prospective for Rotliegendes and Zechstein opportunities and is also adjacent to the PGNiG-operated "Fences" concessions. In 2011 the Company acquired 124 miles (200 kilometers) of 2-D seismic on Block 208, which is currently being interpreted.
Block 208 is located on the Poznan East license which is 100% held by Energia Zachόd Sp. z.o.o., a company owned 90% by Aurelian and 10% by Avobone Poland B.V.
John Smallwood, Exploration Director, commented, "We are delighted to have been granted an extension to this license. This brings the Block in line with the recently extended Block 207 license and protects the investments we have made in this significant regional tight gas play. We look forward to providing further updates on this Block and the Siekierki Project more generally in due course."
