Don't roll up that red carpet just yet, the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has named this year's industry winners for the 13th annual America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises.
In our month-long effort to highlight the understated gender in the oil and gas industry, we were proud to see that five out of the 29 American companies that made the 2011 list were oil and gas companies. The list includes corporations that drive innovative business partnerships with women entrepreneurs and valuable products and services, according to the WBENC website.
The following five oil and gas companies were honored for 2011:
Chevron has won the award 12 times, Shell Oil has won 10 times and ExxonMobil has been on the list six times. BP America and Pacific Gas and Electric Company were nominated for the first time this year.
With a membership of approximately 11,000, the WBENC is the leading counsel for women's business enterprises that supply products and services to the nation's corporations.
