Cambodia to Award Chevron Oil Production License
BANGKOK - Cambodia plans to issue a license this year to Chevron Corp. allowing it to produce oil at the country's Block A, Deputy Prime Minister Sok An said Tuesday.
Production at Block A is expected to begin by the end of this year, he told reporters on the sidelines of an energy forum in Bangkok.
The production rate at the initial stage at Block A won't be substantial, he said. Block A covers 4,709 square kilometers in the Gulf of Thailand.
Meanwhile, the minister said Cambodia's gas reserves total around eight to 13 trillion cubic feet.
