South Texas Well Site Fire Injures Three

Three people were injured at a South Texas well site Thursday evening, StateImpact Texas reported Friday.

Nearly three miles south of Pearsall, a saltwater disposal facility, operated by High Roller Well, LLC, caught on fire at around 5:30 pm after an oil tank exploded.

After burning for several hours, the fire was extinguished around 9 pm with the help of four departments, twelve trucks and 33 workers, according to the report.

The truck was unloading salwater into a collection tank when sparks from the welding ignited vapors around the storage tank, said the Railroad Commission of Texas in a statement issued to StateImpact Texas.

All three men were conscious and taken to the hospital.
