ONGC Shuts Down Bassein Field for Two Weeks

ONGC said the company's BPA platform in the Bassein field offshore India has been shut down for approximately two weeks so it can be connected with a new pipeline.

"The BPA platform is under a planned shutdown to hook up with a new pipeline. It will resume operations on March 21," a spokesman for ONGC said.

The Bassein field has two platforms which produce about 35 million cubic meters per day combined, which is more than half of the country's gas output of 65 million cubic meters.

The BPA platform itself produces 16 million cubic meters of natural gas a day.
