Taiwan's state-run CPC Corp. said Monday that three natural gas wells in central Taiwan have started trial production and will likely be commercially operational in March with a daily flow rate of 100,000 cubic feet.
CPC, which has been drilling for gas since May, said new hydrocarbon deposits were discovered at three wells in Chuhuangkeng, a shallow field in Miaoli county over 100 years old.
The wells produced a combined 30,000 cubic feet a day in the trial period, the company said in a statement.
