I quit directional drilling and bought a tanker for hauling water for frac jobs in ND. My income has moved above 250K. But, its an oil boom, and nothing lasts forever.

I think youre off base. As an MWD, I made more than each of the positions listed, except the consultant. As a DD, I make as much as the drilling consultant, who I know makes more than I do.
