Origin Welcomes New Board Member
Origin announced that Mr. Ralph Norris has agreed to join the Origin Board as an independent non-executive director, effective from April 1, 2012.
Mr. Norris was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia until 30 November 2011, prior to which he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ASB Bank (1991-2001) and Air New Zealand Limited (2002-2005).
He is a former Director of Fletcher Building Ltd, Business Council of Australia, the International Monetary Conference, Chairman of Sovereign Insurance Ltd, the New Zealand Bankers' Association, New Zealand Business Roundtable and the Australian Bankers' Association.
His community activities include him being a member of the New Zealand Olympic Advisory Committee and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Advisory Board.
Mr. Norris was made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2009 and a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business in 2006.
Origin Chairman, Mr. Kevin McCann said that Origin is very pleased that Mr. Norris has agreed to join the Board. He brings a wealth of management and financial experience to the Origin Board together with a deep knowledge of global business and financial trends and this will provide a significant contribution to Origin's growing businesses."
