Speaking to analysts at Jefferies energy conference in Houston, Anadarko Senior Vice President Chuck Meloy said the company's Cheyenne East well saw 50 feet of high-quality natural pay, higher than the company's has estimates.

The well is expected to start production next year, Meloy added.

Cheyenne East was Anadarko's first well to receive a drilling permit after the government imposed a drilling moratorium last year after the Deepwater Horizon spill.

If you think that the oil companies are the only ones getting rich in the oil field than you obviously need financial assistance/drug rehab. Ive seen in my eleven years thousands of oilfield workers live very well off the patch as long as they planned ahead and worked hard. How can you blame them for doing what a company seeks out to do (Provide good paying jobs/make money)! I find the keyboard quarter backs that just want to gripe about oil companies/wages do not understand business in the first place and are most likely the people that opportunity passes them by time and time again! Thank you big oil companies for my career, training, and the opportunity to see how much mettle is within this driven frame. To those of you stuck on worrying about how much the oil company makes maybe you should worry more about what you are doing for your FUTURE! I promise results. Go getm

All I know is thank god for the oilfield! I think all these oil companies are getting rich and the people that are actually doing the work are getting poorer. How about give the working man more money. The ones that are doing the back breaking work to make these easy chair sitting MFs millionaires. Just a better living for our families is all we are asking. But I know this will just be laughed at an we will still be breaking our backs.
