|Tuesday, July 10, 2001
Noble Drilling Corporation reported that the Noble Jimmy Puckett, a 300-foot independent leg cantilever jackup, suffered damage while under tow in Indian waters. The unit encountered significant weather, which resulted in the loss of the derrick and other drilling components. The unit was returned to Mumbai, India, and is currently waiting until weather abates to conduct a full assessment of the damage. Given the current weather conditions, a full assessment may take several weeks to complete. Further information will be released to the market at that time.
