Antrim Submits Development Plan for N. Sea Causeway Field

Valiant Petroleum has submitted a final Field Development Plan (FDP) to the Department of Energy and Climate Change for the Causeway field. The field has progressed into the development phase.

Development plans call for a new production well and a water injection well in the East and Far East fault panels, and the operator will utilize existing wells on the field during the appraisal phase. The production well will be completed with dual electrical submersible pumps and first oil is projected for mid-2012. Hydrocarbons will be sent to and processed at the Cormorant North platform operated by TAQA Bratani Limited before being exported to the Sullom Voe terminal.

The operator reported that commitments are now in place for all long-lead equipment, and the operator awarded a letter of intent for the main subsea installation contracts to Technip UK Limited. The FDP also includes an option to develop the Central panel, which is under review by the partners.

Causeway is located on Blocks 211/22a and 211/23d in a water depth of 350 feet (107 meters) in the UK sector of the North Sea.
