Hyundai Heavy Seals Seismic Deal with GSI
WGP announced an engineering and consultancy contract pertaining specifically to marine seismic systems with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world's largest shipbuilder.
HHI has been contracted by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) to build a high specification, multi-role function oceanographic research vessel to include advanced seismic exploration capabilities. To ensure the vessel will meet the client's requirements, WGP has been contracted to advise on optimum specification, layout, tendering and installation of the seismic equipment.
Mark Burnett, WGP's CEO, commented, "I am very pleased that HHI has recognized WGP as the correct company to assist them in delivering a complete package to their clients. HHI is known globally to be at the forefront of marine vessel construction and it makes good sense for them to consult with such a flexible and progressive company, with the correct cutting-edge marine seismic knowledge and experience, as WGP. This contract is indicative of our continuing aim to be a market leader in niche marine seismic solutions – from new vessel installation consultancy to high-density data acquisition on game-changing Permanent Reservoir Monitoring projects. We look forward to working with HHI on this project and anticipate a satisfied client at its end."
