Coastal Strikes Again at Bua Ban North
Coastal Energy has found additional pay in the Bua Ban field offshore Thailand. The Bua Ban North B-05 exploration well was drilled to 7,600 TVD, encountering 178 feet (54 meters) of net pay in the Miocene objective with average porosity of 27%.
Currently, the well is being cased and then suspended pending the arrival of testing equipment. The company then plans to spud the B-04 well to appraise the Miocene reservoir updip from the discovery in the B-01 well. The Bua Ban field is located on Block G5/43 in the Gulf of Thailand. Coastal Energy wholly owns and operates the block.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
