OGX Hits Oil Pay in Campos Basin



OGX has encountered hydrocarbons in the Albian section of well 1-OGX-33-RJS, specifically, an oil column of about 312 feet (95 meters) with nearly 138 feet (42 meters) of net pay in the carbonate reservoirs of the Albian section.

Drilling of well OGX-33, also referred to as Chimborazo, concluded at a final depth of 12,319 feet (3,755 meters). The OGX-33 well is located 52 miles (84 kilometers) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro on Block BM-C-41 in a water depth of 417 feet (127 meters). The well was drilled by the Pride Venezuela semisub. OGX wholly owns and operates the well.
