Greene's Energy Group Acquires SOS Assets

Greene's Energy Group has acquired the assets of Specialized Oilfield Services (SOS), announced CEO Bob Vilyus. SOS is based in Minot, N.D., and services the Bakken region.

"Greene's has been searching for the right opportunity to expand services into the Bakken shale play," said Senior Vice President Gene Garber, who leads the Greene's Drilling and Production Division. "We have looked at several companies in the last year in order to find one that has the same core values of customer and service excellence as Greene's. We are excited to get an excellent team of assets and people who will be the base for our testing, rental and service business in this region."

"Under the supervision of Regional Manager Dan Hieronymus, SOS has expanded from a small company servicing the Fayetteville shale in Arkansas to a highly valued service company in the Bakken region," said Vilyus. "SOS is an excellent company with a great management and field technician team; the overall business feel is an excellent fit for Greene's."

"We are thrilled to join Greene's and continue to grow our business in the region," said co-owner Hieronymus. "With Greene's support in adding assets and people, we will be in a much better position to service our customers in North Dakota. We are proud of the business we have built and will make it even better under a well respected company like Greene's."

Under Mr. Garber, the Drilling and Production business now has 17 locations in the United States. With this addition, Greene's testing, rental and service businesses now have a significant presence in all of the major shale plays.
