Subsea 7 Snags Chevron Contract in GOM

Chevron awarded Subsea 7 an engineering and installation contract for its Tahiti phase two of development in the Gulf of Mexico. The work scope calls for the installation of one flexible riser, one umbilical, five rigid well jumpers, 10 electrical flying leads and seven steel flying leads. Subsea 7 will also transport the flexible riser from France to the Gulf of Mexico. Engineering work will commence immediately and the installation of the flexible and umbilical will take place in the third quarter of 2011. The Tahiti field is located on Green Canyon block 640 and is about 190 miles (306 kilometers) south of New Orleans, La in a water depth of about 4,000 feet (1,219 meters).
