CHS Helicopter Welcomes New Safety Director for European Ops
CHC Helicopter has appointed a new director of safety and quality for its European operations.
Duncan Trapp brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and a proven track record for introducing new initiatives and technologies to increase safety performance across the CHC fleet having previously held the position of safety and regulatory manager since 2007.
Tasked with leading safety operations at a number of bases in Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway from which CHC services a 55% share of the North Sea market, he replaces former director Bob Millburn.
Mr. Millburn stood down from the post at the end of October but continues to be involved with CHC in a consultative role.
"Having been part of the CHC safety team for several years already I know just how passionate we are about raising the bar on safety not just within our organization but across the industry as a whole. My aim is to continue to drive this passion and commitment throughout the European operations division," said Mr. Trapp.
"We have an outstanding safety management system supported by dedicated and professional individuals across all our business units at CHC and I look forward to building on the standardized approach we have introduced across our operations to ensure customers around Europe benefit from the same high level of safety performance."
Tilmann Gabriel, president of CHC Europe, said, "This is a very exciting time for CHC as we embark on a fresh wave of investment in our services and senior management team to enable us to meet both our own growth aspirations and the needs of our customers.
"Duncan's appointment to this new role will make a significant contribution towards CHC's drive to maintain and enhance our operational performance and underpin our position as the leading operator in the field."
