AWE to Plug, Abandon Silvereye-1 Well

Origin Energy will plug and abandon the Silvereye-1 exploration well after failing to find hydrocarbons. The well, drilled by the semisub Kan Tan IV, reached a depth of 7,605 feet (2,318 meters).

Silvereye is situated about 40 miles (65 kilometers) west of the Yolla gas platform and approximately 17 miles (27 kilometers) west of the Trefoil gas field. Origin Energy serves as the operator of the permit, holding a 60% interest; AWE Limited holds the remaining interest.
