Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded a seven-year engineering and maintenance services contract (EMC) to Wood Group – CCC, a joint venture set up to provide operations and maintenance services for the oil & gas and petrochemical industries in Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen.
The contract, which has a three year extension option, will include integrated engineering, construction, maintenance and support services for existing PDO facilities onshore in Southern Oman.
Wood Group’s market leading engineering, operations and maintenance expertise, together with CCC’s market leading engineering and construction capabilities and substantial regional resource base in Oman and the Middle East, will bring a highly complementary service to PDO.
Les Thomas, board director for Wood Group Production Facilities said, “Wood Group –CCC is delighted to have won this important contract and we look forward to working closely with PDO over the next seven years to achieve their project and business objectives. A key aspect of our operating success has been our ability to develop the local resource base and this ethos will be brought to Oman and the EMC as a core objective.”
Samer Khoury, executive vice president operations, CCC said, “We are delighted to apply the great complementary strengths of Wood Group and CCC to service the needs of PDO. Both companies put health, safety, environment, people, competence and training at the top of their agendas and this contract win represents a major step in the strategic evolution of the joint venture, demonstrating our capability to Middle East clients.”
Over the next 10 years it is estimated that there will be $600bn of investment in oil & gas and petrochemical plants in the region with a need for ongoing operations and maintenance support. Wood Group–CCC is a powerful combination that has the people, equipment, skills and experience to provide that support.
