The U.S. Coast Guard said Wednesday that it responded to an offshore oil facility fire in Louisiana's Bayou Perot, about 20 miles south of New Orleans.

Responders received a call at approximately 10 a.m. CST from the operator on a shallow water oil concession, Louisiana Delta Oil, warning that a fire at a work-over rig caught fire and injured three crewmembers. The fire, which lasted for 30 minutes, has been extinguished.

The Coast Guard, which conducted an overflight of the bayou, reported no pollution.

The injured crewmembers were taken by boat and ambulance to a hospital in Marrero, La. The Coast Guard said that the extent of their injuries is unknown.
