JP Kenny Awarded FEED Contract Offshore Trinidad

J P Kenny, a Wood Group Company, announced that they have been awarded a contract from BG Trinidad and Tobago Limited and Texaco Trinidad Inc., who have started exploring methods to expand their gas production from the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA) in Trinidad. The equal partners awarded a contract to J P Kenny, Inc to conduct Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the BG-operated ECMA development.

The team will develop the Dolphin Deep field using subsea completion technology and capacity upgrades to the existing Dolphin Platform. This is believed to be the first use of subsea well technology in Trinidad. As a premise for the engineering activities, J P Kenny, Inc. is designing the facilities to allow for optimum participation by Trinidad based companies during the construction and execution phase. This project, as well as every other project, will be designed and executed to protect health, safety and the environment. A project team has been established in Houston, Texas, at the J P Kenny facilities.

Rick Hill, President of J P Kenny, Inc., said: “This is a significant achievement for J P Kenny, it is the second subsea project award to the company in as many months. This project continues to build our involvement in the rapidly expanding Trinidadian market.”

J P Kenny is actively participating in Trinidad’s effort to expand its natural gas production; in addition to ECMA J P Kenny is also providing engineering and construction management for the largest pipeline project in Trinidad.
