Immerz to Manage RWE Dea's Turkmen Ops

Peter Immerz is the new General Manager of RWE Dea in Turkmenistan. Immerz takes over from Heiko Oppermann, who until now held the position of General Manager of RWE Dea AG, Turkmenistan Branch. "As the scale of our operations in Turkmenistan increases, it makes sense to expand our permanent presence on location," explained Immerz. RWE Dea is currently preparing an environmental study scheduled to be conducted in the license area of Block 23 in November, following approval of the operating plan by the authorities in Turkmenistan. Initial results are expected at the beginning of next year.

Peter Immerz is a geologist and has been working for RWE Dea for ten years now. His professional career took the 57-year-old to a number of European countries as well as to the Middle East, North America and the South Pacific. Immerz has been the Exploration Manager for RWE Dea in Tripolis, Libya, since 2006.

RWE Dea AG, Turkmenistan Branch, was established in October 2009 and is headquartered in the national capital Ashgabat. License Block 23 is located in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea and was awarded to RWE Dea as part of a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in August 2009. The license area covers about 940 square kilometers. After the completion of the environmental study and the evaluation of existing 2D seismic data, a 3D seismic survey covering an area of about 400 square kilometers is planned, followed by the drilling of a first exploration well.
