Desire Runs into Problems at Rachel Sidetrack
Desire Petroleum has ceased drilling in the 14/15-1Z sidetrack well on the Rachel prospect in the North Falkland Basin. Due to wellbore stability issues through the deviated section of the wellbore, it was impossible to reach the targeted depth in the first wireline logging run, stated the operator. The hole will be cleaned prior to making another attempt. The Rachel prospect is located in Tranche D, and is operated by Desire Petroleum, holding a 92.5% interest; Rockhopper Exploration holds the remaining 7.5% interest.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
