Aurado Energy has entered into an exclusive option agreement with Vector Energy West for the possible acquisition of a 100% interest in two licenses held by VEW that are adjacent to Aurado's 90%-owned Liman Block in western Kazakhstan. The two licenses, known as the Liman 2 and Atyrau blocks, comprise a total of 14,971 sq. km. and are geologically very similar to the Liman Block. A preliminary review of the data indicates as many as 44 above-salt structures within the Atyrau Block and 11 above-salt structures within the Liman 2 Block. Soviet assessments of the reserve potential of Liman 2 and Atyrau attribute 162 million barrels and 747 million barrels to the blocks respectively.
CEO David Robinson stated "acquisition of the Liman 2 and Atyrau Blocks, together with the Liman Block, constitute very large and attractive license area with significant hydrocarbon potential in an area with excellent infrastructure."
