Noble Spins Bit at Leviathan Prospect

The Sedco Express semisub has arrived at the drill site of the Leviathan-1 well in the Rachel license and began drilling, announced Noble Energy. The well should take about five months to complete. The Leviathan-1 well is a gas target located in Tertiary-Oligocene age sands at a depth of 16,716 feet (5,095 meters). It is estimated the prospect contains about 16 Tcf of unrisked mean resource potential of natural gas. The Leviathan prospect is located in 5,361 feet (1,634 meters) of water offshore Israel in the Rachel and Amit license. Noble Energy operates the license, holding a 39.7% interest; Ratio Oil Exploration 1992 LP holds 15%; Delek Drilling LP holds 22.7%; and Avner Oil and Gas Ltd. holds 22.7% interest.
