Mosaic & Santos Spud New Well at Churchie Field

Mosaic Oil and Santos have spud a new well in the successful Churchie Field located in Queensland, Australia. The Churchie 4 well is situated in PL 192 in southeast Queensland on the Churchie gas field which was discovered in 2001 and placed online in March 2003.

The well is being drilled by Mosaic as operator using traditional drilling with nitrogen that has proved successful in past drilling in the Surat Basin after being introduced into the area by Mosaic in 2002.

Churchie 4 will be drilled to a TD of 2,115 meters and is situated 1.3 kilometers east of the Churchie 3 well. Churchie 3 flows 20 million cubic ft/day.

Mosaic and Santos announced in September that the Churchie field had 34 PJ of 2P (probable proven) gas reserves and 125 PJ of 3P (possible probable) reserves.

Interests in the field are Mosaic 49% (Operator), Santos group (51%).

The Joint Venture is seeking to consolidate further the 2P reserves of the Churchie Field.
