While Hurricane Rita faded as she made way her way towards the Texas and Louisiana coasts,
she still churned away in one of the most prolific oil and gas regions in the Gulf of Mexico as a healthy category 5.
We have now learned that the damage to the drilling fleet and production facilities is quite extensive.
According to the latest information available, 5 mobile offshore rigs incurred major damage, 10 rigs incurred minor damage,
