StatoilHydro Makes Unconfirmed Gas Find at Njord Field
StatoilHydro announced that the drilling of an exploration well in the Noatun prospect 16 kilometers north of the Njord field in the Norwegian Sea has struck gas and condensate. Tests are ongoing to determine whether the find is worth exploiting.

StatoilHydro Sees Gas at Wilcat Well, Too Soon to Confirm Commerciality
StatoilHydro completed drilling of wildcat well 7224/6-1. Gas was proven in the secondary target in reservoir strata of poor quality. The well was not formation tested, so it is therefore too early to say whether the gas can be produced.

Faroe Petroleum has agreed to acquire a 14% interest in Norwegian License PL289 from Gaz de France Norge, which contains the Marsvin prospect. Located in 65 meters of water, Marsvin is scheduled to be drilled by the Maersk Guardian in April 2008.

StatoilHydro has completed drilling of the Askeladd Beta exploration well in production license 7120/8-4 in the Barents Sea. The well was dry and only traces of hydrocarbons were proven. The well will now be permanently plugged and abandoned.
