Chevron Expands Elite Group with Anadarko Deal
“Chevron should truly outperform on cash flow and payback metrics for tight oil,” said Clarke.
Beyond North America, the deal should have no short-term effect on APC’s pending final investment decision (FID) on the proposed Mozambique LNG export project in which it is involved, remarked Frank Harris, Wood Mackenzie’s vice president for LNG consulting.
“We do not expect the deal to have any near-term impact on the Mozambique LNG project, as Anadarko has indicated that FID is imminent,” said Harris. “However, Mozambique offers attractive long-term growth and diversification opportunities for Chevron’s LNG portfolio.”
