Eni Wins Operatorship of Offshore Angola Block

Eni was awarded participation and operatorship of Block 35 by the Angolan Juri for the bid round, composed of representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum, Sonangol and the Ministry of Finance. Block 35, located 93 miles (150 kilometers) off the coast of Luanda, covers 1.1 million acres (4,831 square kilometers) of potential pre-salt mining acreage.

Eni will hold a 35% interest in the block, and will partner with Sonangol (45%) and Repsol (25%). The deal involves the drilling of two wells and conducting 3D seismic surveys on a 617,763 acre (2,500 square kilometer) area, which will be carried out in the first five years of exploration.
