Orca Exploration Nominates BOD Member
Orca announced that Robert (Bob) Wigley has agreed to stand as a nominee for election to the Company's Board of Directors at its annual and special meeting of shareholders to be held on June 23, 2010 (the "Shareholder Meeting").
Bob Wigley is an investor and entrepreneur with extensive international financial services experience. He spent more than 10 years with Merrill Lynch, serving most recently as Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe, Middle East and Africa until resigning in January 2009 following the completion of the takeover by Bank of America.
"Bob will bring extraordinary breadth of experience to Orca's Board," said David Lyons, Orca's Chairman and CEO. "He is widely recognized for his ability to lead in new business, educational and community ventures and his advice is much sought after within the global financial services community."
A former member of the Court of the Bank of England, he is the non-executive Chairman of Yell Group plc and Chairman of Sovereign Reversions plc. He is Deputy Chairman of Business in the Community and sits on the UK Government's National Council for Education Excellence. He is Chairman of the UK's National Education Employer Partnership Task Force, a Visiting Fellow of Oxford University and a member of the Boards of two venture capital firms. Bob is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has a business degree and an honorary doctorate from Bath University.
