Subsea 7 Secures Na Kika Installation Contract

BP awarded Subsea 7 an installation contract for the Galapagos and Na Kika Phase 3 developments. Engineering work will start immediately, and installation will take place late 2010 using Subsea 7's pipelay and construction vessel. The fields will be subsea tied-back to the Na Kika semisub and are scheduled to come online in 2011. Both fields are located in Mississippi Canyon roughly 130 miles (209 kilometers) southwest of New Orleans, La in a water depth of 6,300 feet (1,920 meters). BP is the production operator of the Na Kika facility and satellite subsea fields.
