Indonesian state oil and gas company PT Pertamina is finalizing the acquisition of the Hanoi Trough block in Vietnam from Quad Energy S.A. company source said.
The process of acquisition is expected to be completed this year, the source told the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia.
It will be the last of three blocks to be acquired by the companies this year.
Pertamina already acquired two oil blocks earlier this year -- 46 percent of Offshore North West Java from BP Indonesia and 10 percent of Basker Manta Gummy (BMG) in Australia from ROC Oil Ltd.
Pertamina chief Karen Agustiawan will leave for Vietnam soon to sign the deal with Quad Energy S.A. which is based in Canada., the source said.
