PSA Norway Investigates Incident at StatoilHydro's Troll A

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has implemented an investigation of the incident that occurred on Troll A on Thursday, September 18, 2008. One person was sent to Haukeland hospital following an injury in connection with a lifting operation.

The person was struck by a steel beam that came loose when equipment was moved by the crane.

The PSA was notified about the incident at 16:55 hours on Thursday. An investigation team will be sent to the facility during the course of the day. The PSA will also assist the police in their investigation of the incident.

The incident had a high potential for injury. Also, the activities that took place prior to the incident are somewhat unclear.

StatoilHydro is the Operator of Troll A.
