International Logging Incorporated (ILI) has acquired SPT-Synergic Petroleum Technologies (SPT) which is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Financial terms were not disclosed.
ILI was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Today, ILI has amongst the most modern and largest logging fleets in the world and is a market leader in the Far East, Africa, Latin America, and North America with over 1,200 field geologists working in 55 countries. ILI is majority owned by equity sponsors Carlyle/Riverstone and Cherington Capital. SPT was founded by Eric Bauer and Jorge Poncetta and has been a leading provider of mud logging, geochemical, and formation evaluation services in Argentina since 1994. "SPT provides high quality services and is a respected leader in Argentina and bordering countries. We are very pleased and excited to welcome Eric Bauer, Jorge Poncetta, and 76 new staff to the ILI team," stated Ken Babcock, President and Chief Executive Officer of ILI. "Adding this strong presence in Argentina strengthens ILI's industry-leading service position in South America."
