Saudi Aramco has discovered a new natural gas field in Saudi territorial waters in the Arab Gulf, according to the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng Ali Al-Naimi.

In a statement to SPA, al-Naimi said gas flowed from the well at a rate of 40 million cubic feet per day but productive capacity of the well is expected to jump to 80 million cubic feet per day.

The well is located about 160 kilometers north of Dhahran.
