In fact, smart recruiters will leverage their time during the industry slowdown to develop and implement strategies to better position themselves for the market turnaround – when energy companies will be looking to snatch up the best talent.

Many of the oil-related job losses in the Houston area are coming from the manufacturing side of the industry. Leisure and hospitality, health care, government and information continue to add jobs. Those who have lived and worked in Houston for many years know the resilience of its economy. Even with the downturns, Houston has had an impressive history of growth. Despite the recent downturns, Im still bullish on Houston. Than Nguyen
