UK Hydrocarbon Production Down 11.6% during 1Q 2012

change text size

Production of fuels in the UK fell by 11.6 percent during the first quarter of 2012, according to the latest quarterly statistics report issued by the UK's Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

The June 2012 edition of the Energy Trends report showed that crude oil production, and production of natural gas liquids, fell by 13 percent during the first three months of 2012 when compared with 1Q 2011.

Total indigenous production of natural gas during 1Q 2012 was down by 14.1 percent.

DECC attributed the decline in production to maintenance work and slowdowns on a number of fields.
